🔗 The Grand Tour: One for the Road

Hats off to Jeremy, James, and Richard. Thanks for the many years of entertainment (and controversy).

Plot twist! As announced on Twitter, the Retroid Pocket 5 will now come with 8GB of RAM and launch with Android 13. No idea if this was just a marketing ploy or if they actually made something happen behind the scenes, but a much welcome upgrade nonetheless.

🔗 Retroid Pocket 5 full specs and pricing is up on the website. Pre-orders start Monday. Android 10 means Yuzu won’t run on it, which is a bit of a bummer, though Retroid says Android 13 will be coming later.

I’ll likely order one of these even just for GameCube/PS2/Dreamcast and back, that 1080p OLED is too good to pass up. Still can’t decide which color I want though.

🔗 Scratchpad is a new app from Sindre Sorhus that acts as a single-view scratchpad for any text that you need to hold onto. It’s like a simpler version of Tot with one page, and syncs between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac via iCloud. Grab it now while it’s free!

🔗 muOS 2405.1 Refried Beans dropped today, with added support for the RG35XXSP!

🔗 Odin 2 Mini reviews seem to reinforce what I figured would be the case. It looks to be a great little handheld, but not worth buying if you already have have an Odin 2. I think it would be the perfect companion to a Steam Deck if you like the smaller size.

🔗 Kingdom Hearts is out on Steam today. Regular price $99.99 for the full pack, on sale for $68.99 until June 27.

🔗 Anbernic RG35XX SP: An Almost Beginner’s Guide

I’m writing this about two weeks after the SP officially released, and I’ve already seen multiple reports of users' batteries swelling up and failing.

It’s a bit of a bummer to hear about battery issues with the RG35XXSP. Still, I’m excited to pick one of these up once they get this worked out. I’ve been looking for something smaller and more pocketable than the Odin 2 and the SP sounds like it’s the one.
